About
The workshop version of STARS is for teaching: a room of people who have never mixed images, and a laptop each. It installs nothing and runs from a folder. The microphone and the webcam work because it is served from the machine itself, and its guide (in French) walks through starting it on Windows, Linux and macOS.
It is built for the same layer stack as the rest of STARS, and its scenes can be imported from STARS Web.
Features
- 01
Channels
As many as you need, each a generative layer (grid, rings…) with its parameters, opacity, blend mode, placement and quality, sent to bus A or B.
- 02
Mix
A preview of each bus, an A/B crossfader, blackout, stutter and freeze, a master colour grade and limiter, a master effects stack.
- 03
In time
BPM with tap tempo, an eight-step sequencer, LFOs, a modulation matrix that assigns any driver to any parameter, macros.
- 04
Audio and camera
Microphone, webcam, or a track played from disk, all feeding the audio-reactive effects.
- 05
Outputs and mapping
Pop out an output window, drag it onto a projector and go full screen. Mappings are saved.
- 06
MIDI
Learn any control, save the map in the browser, or export it to a file that finds its channels by name on another machine.
- 07
Presets and snapshots
Save looks and recall them with morphing; export the whole setup (channels, presets, MIDI map, mapping, panel layout) as one file.
- 08
Nothing lost
Everything is kept as you work and comes back after a reload or a crash. A guided tour on first start, every shortcut behind the ? key.
