Front Line: a strategy game inside the game
Alpha 13 adds a real-time strategy prototype. Two yards, ore between them, the Chorus on the flanks.
Front Line started as a run mode and grew into a small real-time strategy game. Two bases face each other across a field of ore. Barges mine it, refineries turn it into metal, and the yards build hulls from the metal. Chorus tissue, taken from the swarm on the flanks, is researched into better ones.
What it has so far:
- eight hulls to build, placed towers, and an enemy run by Helios Combine;
- barges selected with a box and sent to mine with a right-click (alpha 20);
- fog of war, repair tenders and interdictors, and your own ship in command (alpha 21);
- relays that claim fields, and barges that earn the ore (alpha 22);
- veterans that earn one module per level, fitted between battles (alpha 18).
It is still marked as a prototype. The goal is to burn the other yard.
